Activities of the Fraunhofer IVV in Brazil
As part of an ongoing PROFIL project which runs until February 2012 the Brazilian research market will be developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV and the existing scientific collaboration with the Instituto de Tecnológia de Alimentos (ITAL) in Campinas, São Paulo, will result in joint projects. Most of these projects will be set up and carried out by the Biogenic Raw Materials, Food Development, Functional Ingredients, and Functional Materials business units. Relevant project areas include:
- Further development and market introduction of a novel biofuel
- Hydrothermal carbonization using the deep-shaft process
- Fractionation of sunflower seed
- Innovative technology for drying fruit under gentle conditions
- Coating of packing films with proteins
